IQ FireWatch is an automated early wildfire detection system. It detects smoke and smoke-like phenomena in real time, so that wildfires can be discovered and put out as soon as possible. This patented technology is made in Germany and currently employed on four continents to protect a wide array of different landscapes, from flat plains to rugged hills and mountains.

Multi-spectral sensor system

The sensor unit of the IQ FireWatch system is mounted onto existing structures in or near at-risk areas, such as radio masts or lookout towers in a forest, at least five meters (16.4 ft) above the treetops. Alongside considerations about pre-existing infrastructure, analytical software informs the choice of locations for the sensors in order to give them the best possible coverage.

The raw image data captured by the sensor unit is transferred to the central system unit via a hybrid fiber optic cable and processed locally.
