Martin de Zwarte, founder of SurCom International, began as a Radio Officer in the Merchant Navy. He later held technical and commercial roles at Radio Holland NV before joining Motorola’s Government Electronics Division in 1973 to establish its European office in the Netherlands. As Area Manager Europe for Motorola BV's Military & Aerospace Electronics Division, he led marketing, sales, and distribution for the company’s U.S.-based products and services.
