VRT100 - Very Rugged Terminal
VIASAT's VRT-100 is the only fully ruggedized portable satellite Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) terminal designed for high-speed communications off the beaten path. The terminal delivers IP connectivity at speeds up to 422 kbps in a form factor that is highly ruggedized, man-portable, and vehicular rack-mountable. For vehicular use, the terminal sits in a mounting tray which permits operation while charging the battery. Easily dismounted, the terminal can also be used while still in the backpack. The detachable antenna can be operated remotely up to several hundred feet, if necessary, and the detachable front control module enables terminal operation while still on the user’s back.
The rugged, portable VRT-100 brings the IP advantage to your jobs in very demanding environments, delivering portable, high-speed internet access that operates with Inmarsat’s service on the new Inmarsat-4 satellite. This rugged terminal offers a full range of data and legacy voice services to the user. This rugged, mobile BGAN terminal extends your network infrastructure to deployed users, enabling the entire workforce to be fully networked. Ready for use wherever and whenever, this terminal interfaces with IP devices to quickly create a fully IP-based, networked environment.
